commons building

Bath Spa University will host the event on its Newton Park campus. Our academic building, Commons, will be the focus for iHE 2018. Entrance to the building is through a three storey glazed atrium space containing a mezzanine walkway at first floor level. The building provides everything from a 250 seat capacity lecture space, teaching spaces equipped with Apple TV allowing wireless connection of iPads to screens, to breakout rooms and pods.

MediaWall, twitter.com/MediaWallBSU, is a 7.5m high display wall in the atrium space designed to support unique and engaging digitally mediated works. MediaWall will be both a visual focal point, and host for a unique artist led work created to support iHE 2018 through an international call developed around the conference themes.

Lecture spaces are also equipped with lecture capture facilities giving the potential to record and subsequently share sessions. For visitors with hearing difficulties the large, lecture spaces in Commons all feature a hearing system.

The campus has with 5GHz wifi running through the Eduroam network https://www.eduroam.org/where/ allowing users to access through a single set of credentials. Free access will be given for visitors without Eduroam. Technical support will be provided by specialist campus based AV Team.
